our history
Access Communications Asia Pacific Pty Ltd began its life as Specialised Press Agency in 1961 and as such is Australia's oldest agency of its type. Having monitored events in the national capital for more than 40 years we have established a reputation for reliability and excellence that is second to none.
In 1990 Specialised Press Agency expanded its operations to incorporated the Political Reference Service. With offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra we were able to broaden our coverage to include state as well as federal issues.
In the late 1990s, with the advent of the Internet and in response to the changing preferences of our subscribers, we introduced Australian Politics Online. At the same time, the offerings of Australian Politics Online, Political Reference Service and Specialised Press Agency were consolidated as Access Communications Asia Pacific Pty Ltd.
In October 2000 Access Communications became a member of the CCH Asia Pacific group of companies. It is operated as an independent, but wholly owned subsidiary of CCH Asia Pacific.
